L’association Union des Femmes et Filles pour le Développement (Uffd) est très préoccupée par l’épanouissement de la gent féminine. C’est pourquoi, elle fait de la promotion des femmes et la défense de leurs droits son cheval de bataille. En témoigne la séance de sensibilisation qu’elle a organisé ce mercredi 20 Mars 2024 sur l’égalité des sexes. Cette séance qui s’est tenue dans un hôtel de la ville de Parakou a connu la présence de la Présidente de l’association Uffd Faridatou Zachari Traoré Yacoubou et des femmes.
Cette séance de sensibilisation de l’association Uffd s’inscrit dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre d’un projet du consortium “Les attachées féministes du Nord-Bénin”. Au moyen d’une communication, la Présidente de l’association Uffd Faridatou Zachari Traoré Yacoubou a expliqué le bien-fondé de promouvoir l’égalité des sexes. Selon elle, l’homme et la femme ont les mêmes droits devant la loi. À ce titre, nul ne doit privilégié au détriment de l’autre. C’est pourquoi, elle a exhorté les participantes à veiller au partage égal des travaux ménagers aux enfants, qu’ils soient du sexe féminin ou masculin. À l’en croire, la tendance de la société prendre la jeune fille comme celle qui doit s’occuper uniquement des travaux domestiques et le garçon pour les études ou d’autres formations pénalisant la jeune fille d’avoir accès à une éducation de qualité.
Au terme de la séance, les participantes ont apprécié à juste titre cette initiative de grande portée. Ainsi, elles ont l’engagement à l’unanimité de mettre en application des conseils reçus pour le bonheur de leurs progénitures.
