Vingt enfants démunis et orphelins de la commune de Kandi ont retrouvé le sourire en ce début de rentrée scolaire, grâce à la mairie des jeunes et quelques personnes de bonne volonté. Le lundi 23 septembre dernier, le maire des jeunes de Kandi, Fahad Adamou a procédé à la distribution de kits scolaires aux enfants issus de cette couche sociale. C’était en présence des conseillers des jeunes des dix (10) arrondissements de la commune, des parents et d’autres invités.
À l’issue de la cérémonie, le maire a présenté un aperçu du processus de collecte de fonds qui remonte au 10 septembre dernier. Pour lui, ce soutien aux enfants a été rendu possible grâce à l’appui indéfectible de la population (organismes de la société civile, structures étatiques, fils et filles de Kandi, ainsi que ceux de la diaspora). C’est un geste de générosité qui vient soulager les enfants et leurs parents en cette période difficile caractérisée par la morosité économique. Pour finir, le maire a exhorté les siens à continuer sur cette lancée et les a appelés à la solidarité, malgré leurs différences.
Les parents des enfants bénéficiaires ont exprimé leur profonde gratitude au maire des jeunes et à son équipe pour cette action sociale. Par ailleurs, il convient de noter que cet événement n’aurait pas eu lieu sans l’amour, l’entraide et la solidarité partagés par la population.
